September is an exciting month full of events, especially in New York City!  This month, we are relaunching our monthly NextWeb events, which include the NY Web 2.0 Meetup, TechKaraoke,  and Lunch 2.0.  We’re also excited to announce our partnership with Mashable.

Please join us on Monday, September 15th, at Webster Hall for the NextWeb NY Web 2.0 Meetup!  The event begins at 6:30pm.  The following are set to present/speak that evening:

Alex Hillman is a freelance web developer, a community strategy consultant, and entrepreneur based in sunny Philadelphia. Alex has led and evangelized the coworking movement in Philly by co-founding Independents Hall, a collaborative community focused on mixing social interaction with shared office space. Since opening the space, Alex has assisted a number of other similar group leaders in focusing and energizing their efforts. Alex is also a driving force behind multiple social media and technology events and organizations in the city, sharing his infectious enthusiasm with every person that crosses his path (or finds him on Twitter).

Heavybag Media was founded in 2002 by Jackie Peters and Dennis Peters. Dennis previously had a television commercial company called One Black Shoe. Jackie ran a boutique design and marketing firm called Pixelcommotion. The two saw that media was headed in a very new direction. They had a vision of combining their skills and knowledge to form a new kind of company.

Dennis and Jackie saw the future as a combination of their talents and started Heavybag Media to fill the need for a new type of marketing company. They combined creativity, production, technology and marketing under one roof.

Heavybag Media is one of the preeminent web strategy houses on the west coast.
